Since last Friday, June 22nd, the Brewers have scored 1 run or less 3 times while plating 6 runs on Saturday. This offensive drought comes on the heels of a stretch where the Brewers knocked in 39 runs in their 6 previous games. The question is, how long can you put up with this offensive ineptness?
Multiply that with Nyger Morgan’s mental lapse by getting picked off of second base when he doesn’t know the count, overthrowing the cut off man, Manny Parra’s inability to get ahead in the count, and then when he does…he gives up a run scoring 0-2 double vs. Cincinnati. Axford’s recent stumbles in save situations, on Sunday vs. Chicago Corey Hart doubles to lead off the 7th and not one Brewer can advance him….these are all examples of ineptness on the part of Ron Roenicke’s guys. Who’s to blame? Why isn’t this team mentally in the game? Why can’t they remain consistent at the plate?
I’m never in favor of firing anyone during the season; that said, maybe a firing of the hitting coach Johnny Narron might shake things up a bit. Let’s be honest, it can’t hurt.
2 runs in 3 games over a 4 game stretch is just not getting it done. Add in the offensive history of the current season; seems to be a growing “no brainer”.
