Rumor around the NFL is that the Packers are arrogant and merely expect to show up and win games, that McCarthy and his offense can beat anyone at any time because there is a feeling of mismatch superiority.
I sat down with Packers receiver James Jones. His response to the inuendo was simple, “There’s a lot of talent on this team. We won a Super Bowl and not many guys have changed. We know how to win, but this one (the loss to the Colts) I think made every guy look in the mirror”. Jones continued, “I don’t want to take away from our opponents but we’ve got too many things to point to that we’ve done to ourselves, to get us beat. Dropped balls, missed blocks, missed tackles, bad passes, kicks I mean all of it, we’re all to blame. If we all do our jobs, we win those games…but this loss (to the Colts) was really a tough one to swallow.”
Whether or not the Packers believed that they could merely show up and win games is inconsequencial. It sounds to me like Indianapolis just might have been the wake up call this team needed.
In 5 days, we’ll find out.

should the Packers consider going back to a straight 4×3 defense instead of the 3×4, their pass rush has diminished since they transitioned to the 3×4 defense.
