As the Brewers season comes to an end, what have we learned?
* 28 blown save opportunities will not allow you in to the post season.
* Those losses early in the season, when we want to say, “No big deal, it’s early in the season” are just as costly as the ones down the stretch.
* The young arms are proving promising but the bull pen is going to require a lot of attention this off season.
* Believe him or not, Braun’s been tested and hasn’t been found guilty of anything. At the beginning of the season we were all talking about his power numbers to see if they would down. As of today, Braun has hit a career high 41 home runs, has a .321 average and a slugging percentage of .601.
All in all there are quite a few pieces in place for an optimistic 2013.
As we console ourselves with the words, “Better luck next year”, personally I can’t wait for the “hot stove” chatter.
