Those are all things that we want to know and want to understand.
What I want to know is why did he deliberately throw an innocent man under the bus? Why did Braun, knowing that he’s the one that actually took the drugs and knew that he was as guilty as sin, why he would call other players around the league to insinuate that Dino Lorenzi Jr. was a Cubs fan and possibly an anti-Semite just to garner support for his own lie? Why it has taken him so long, after the investigation has been completed, to come forward, be a man and live up to his own words?
When he said in that speech at Maryvale in February of 2012 that if he had actually taken the substance that was found in his body that he would admit his wrongdoing but never had the character or the guts to do so?
I’m not bitter about the cheating or the lying when it comes to Braun, what I’m angered and appalled by is the diversion of guilt to a man who did nothing more than make an honest mistake doing his job.
When Braun finally musters the courage to speak I hope he does it without a script, without the sense of rehearsal and from the sincerest part of his heart.
Braun, you’ve fooled me once, you sure as hell won’t fool me again. This had better be good.
