A brilliant move by the Brewers skipper Ron Roenicke; if you’re going to give Michael Fiers his big league shot, why not keep him comfortable and bring up his battery mate Marti Maldanado from AAA Nashville. The move paid off as Fiers picked up his first major league victory with a 2-1 win over the L.A. Dodgers. Brewers pitching coach, Rick Kranitz, stated that he kept it simple for the young, upstart pitcher, “We didn’t give him too much information, just a general scouting report; first ball, fast ball (hitters) and things like that”.
Hey kids and coaches, listen up; watch the San Antonio Spurs if you want to see what “TEAM” basketball is all about. What a clinic the Spurs put on last night in destroying the Oklahoma City Thunder. Defense and passing the basketball that’s what has put the Spurs up 2 games to none. Look out, this could end up as the cagey veterans vs. Lebron in the NBA Finals. What’s the better story? GO SPURS! (too bad Stephen Jackson plays for them now)
The Packers and Donald Driver have come to an agreement on a contract for the 2012 season. Driver tweeted out, “Packer for life” last week. Looks like he knew this was coming. He may have lost a step, he might not have the same leaping ability, he might not look like a kid anymore but his heart, savvy veteran ability and his willingness to take a heavy hit over the middle still makes DD a viable commodity for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. While a new contract doesn’t guarantee a roster spot, it keeps Driver at the forefront of Packers fans heart….and he’s earned it! Congrats DD.
