Quinn And Reid; If It Was Your Daughters?

What’s making news at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis?  It’s not who IS there, it seems to be who ISN’T.

Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon, among others, was barred by the league from attending the combine because of his “legal matter”.  That’s a nice tidy way of hiding the ugly truth that Mixon punched a woman, in the face, knocking her out.

Now, NFL coaches and GM’s are criticizing the league for it’s actions.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Lions GM Bob Quinn both stated their disappointment in the league for not extending Mixon the invitation.

To say this disgusts me would be an understatement.  Since when did the NFL Combine become some sort of “right”?  It’s an honor and a privilege NOT a right.

Mixon WAS given his second chance.  After he was suspended for the 2014 season, he was allowed to play again for the Sooners.  He’s allowed to be a part of Oklahoma’s Pro Day and he’s allowed to play in the NFL is a team should pick him.

To Reid and Quinn and any other whining front office staffer who chastises the NFL for not allowing anyone who commits such an act from attending certain NFL functions, you’re an NFL team for God’s sake, take a stand.  It’s YOU who enables guys like this to not worry too much about retribution when it comes to athletic talent over any type of crime, including crimes of violence.  I wonder how Quinn and Reid would feel if it was their daughters that we knocked out for all the world to see.
