That being said, both the Golden Eagles and the Badgers weren’t supposed to finish anywhere near the top of their conferences. The fact that they were in the running is once again a testament to the coaching we have in this state.
Whatever side of the alumni line you fall upon, you have to admit; either one of these two teams has a shot to knock off any one at any time as we enter the best time of year….NCAA Tourney Time.
Then again, both teams have it in them to play down to their competition, go cold from the field and the line and watch a golden opportunity slip away from them leaving us all to wonder what might have been.
The bottom line is this, with no real dominant team in college basketball this year, this leaves the field wide open. We might see a 16 upset a 1 or a 12 seed knock off a 5 and go on to the Final Four.
