The NFL Has Many, The NBA Has Few

The Packers knock off the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-15 but Packers fans are howling.  A great offense, a poor offense, a solid defense, same ole’ same ole’….these are the things that cause a fans to pull their hair out.  Inconsistency.

In today’s fast food world, we want greatness and we want it now and we want it year after year.

With yesterday’s win, the Packers go to 5-3 on the season and remain firmly in the hunt for the NFC North title behind the 6-1 Chicago Bears…but..the one thing we’ve learned from the NFL this season is that nothing is predictable and everyone is seemingly equal.

The mighty Saints are 2-5, the lowly Dolphins are 4-3, the rookie phenom Cam Newton in year 2 has his Carolina Panthers at 1-6, the terrible Colts are now 4-3 while the mighty Cowboys are 3-4.

The ultimate sport has the ultimate in parity and each and every year every franchise has new hope, legitimate hope.   While it’s maddening, it’s the reason NFL is the number one sport in the country.

In a league where only 3 to 4 teams have a real honest shot at a title….hey incoming NBA Commish, Adam Silver….make a note and see if you can’t revive a once proud league.
